Blazing Pedals Fun Ride
Juniper
Flat Rural Fire Protection District is
having a Fund Raiser Bike Ride
Sign up and depart from 7 AM until 9 AM.
Starts and ends at Fire Station #1 -
80501 Hwy 216, Maupin, OR. $35.00
Participation Fee0will be used for
firefighter incentives and awards. This
is the Juniper Flat - Maupin - Tygh
Valley, Oregon area.
There are rides of 20, 42 and 70 miles.
The 20 miles is mostly flat, the loop of
42 miles has about 2500" of climbing,
and the 70 mile about twice that. These
routes are thru rural areas, with the
long loop riding along side the
Deschutes River for 8 miles. Very
beautiful! We will have maps at sign in
and the roads will be painted with
direction arrows. There will be support
vehicles (the volunteer firefighters), 2
rest stops for the long ride and 1 rest
stop for the short ride. Any questions email

HELMETS ARE REQUIRED
Anyone under 14 must be accompanied by

4th Annual RiverFest Celebration in
Maupin
Visit Maupin and the Oasis Resort for a
day of music, food and fun on the Lower
Deschutes River at the Oasis RiverView
Campground from 10 am - 9 pm. RiverFest
features live music from regional bands,
mini rafting trips, a fly casting pond
with professional casting
demonstrations, good deals on fishing
and outdoor gear, tethered hot air
balloon rides, area artists presenting
river art, craft, and food/beverage
vendors.
5k
and 10k walk/run along the Deschutes
River. The Maupin Dig & Hoe Garden Club
will be selling "Layers of Maupin"
Cookbook. OSU Master Gardeners will have
a plant clinic.
Admission is free and the event is
family-friendly with a kids play area
featuring a large bouncy house and a
water slide.

RiverFest 5K/10K Walk/Run
The
RiverFest 5K/10K Walk/Run is along the
beautiful Deschutes River in Maupin,
Oregon. The course is an out and back
and is level and paved. The race departs
from the Oasis Riverview Campground -
also the site of the RiverFest Festival
that same day. The 10K course goes
upstream and turns around just past
Wapinitia Rapids and the 5K course turns
around just below Boxcar Rapids. All
ages are welcome and well behaved dogs
on leashes are also welcome. No bicycles
please. Handcrafted glass medallions
will be awarded to the winners of each
race and all other participants will
receive ribbons.
Pre-register by Wednesday, September
10th to pay $8 or $18 with a shirt. Day
of race registration is $10 or $23 with
a shirt. Children 12 and under are $5 or
$15 with shirt. Registration and shirt
pick-up is from 8:00am until 8:45am on
the day of the race and the race begins
at 9:00am. For additional information
