Alalfa fields of Tygh Valley

Pine Hollow reservoir with Mt. Hood
| Surrounding Area
Tygh Valley The Tygh Indians traded with Oregon Trail pioneers in this fertile valley. Sugar, coffee, and cloth were prized goods of the day. In current times, exposed rock formations testify to the volcanic origins of the area. You can travel through these ancient landscapes to more modern conveniences of RV_accommodations at the Fairgrounds. Today the community hosts the Wasco County Fair the third weekend in August.
Wamic/Pine Hollow Wamic is the last old village along the Barlow Road before entering the forested mountain section of the journey. Wamic offers the traveler everything from camping supplies and cold beverages to home-cooked meals, and year round fishing at a lakeside resort.
Pine Grove At the edge of Juniper Flat lies the tiny village of Pine Grove. This marks the transition to the Mount Hood Forest from the desert. This area is located right on the edge of the White River Game Unit.
Rock Creek / Sportsman's Park A sportsman’s paradise set in the forest on a small lake. Rock creek provides quiet solitude as the lake is closed to motorized boating. A great place to fish, and there are forest service campgrounds nearby.
